The US stock market closed higher, with the Dow Jones adding 0.63%

At the time of closing on the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones rose by 0.63%, the S&P 500 index grew by 1.15%, and the NASDAQ Composite index appreciated by 1.65%.

On Tuesday, traders noted that the US Consumer Confidence Index in June rose to 109.7 points from the revised May figure of 102.5 points. This is the highest level since January 2022.

Investors are also waiting for the final data on the growth of the US GDP in the first quarter, which will be published on Thursday. Analysts believe that the country's Ministry of Commerce will raise the figure to 1.4% from the value of the interim estimate of 1.3%. The first estimate was 1.1%.

The top gainers among the components of the Dow Jones index at the end of today's trading were shares of Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC), which appreciated by 0.76 points (2.28%), closing at 34.10. Quotations for Home Depot Inc (NYSE:HD) grew by 5.85 points (1.90%), ending the session at 313.74. Shares of Boeing Co (NYSE:BA) increased in price by 3.85 points (1.87%), closing at 209.43.

The leaders of the decline were shares of Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:WBA), the price of which fell by 2.95 points (9.34%), ending the session at 28.64. Shares of 3M Company (NYSE:MMM) rose by 2.15 points (2.14%), closing at 98.26, and Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:AMGN) fell in price by 2.12 points (0.94%) and ended trading at 222.61.

The top gainers among the components of the S&P 500 index at the end of today's trading were shares of Generac Holdings Inc (NYSE:GNRC), which appreciated by 8.77% to 142.50, Carnival Corporation (NYSE:CCL), which gained 8.77%, closing at 15.88, as well as shares of Newell Brands Inc (NASDAQ:NWL), which rose by 7.42%, ending the session at 8.83.

The leading decliners were shares of Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:WBA), which fell in price by 9.34%, closing at 28.64. Shares of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:REGN) lost 8.71% and ended the session at 716.09. Quotes for Catalent Inc (NYSE:CTLT) fell in price by 4.79% to 41.72.

The top gainers among the components of the NASDAQ Composite index at the end of today's trading were shares of Black Diamond Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:BDTX), which appreciated by 235.87% to 6.18, AC Immune Ltd (NASDAQ:ACIU), which gained 71.72%, closing at 3.40, as well as shares of Leafly Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:LFLY), which rose by 54.81%, ending the session at 0.37.

The leading decliners were shares of Adicet Bio Inc (NASDAQ:ACET), which fell in price by 54.29%, closing at 2.13. Shares of Nkarta Inc (NASDAQ:NKTX) lost 37.97% and ended the session at 2.81. Quotes for Siyata Mobile Inc (NASDAQ:SYTA) fell in price by 34.80% to 0.06.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the number of shares that rose in price (2137) exceeded the number that closed lower (818), and the prices of 88 shares remained virtually unchanged. On the NASDAQ Stock Exchange, shares of 2099 companies rose, 1442 fell, and 147 remained at the level of the previous close.

The CBOE Volatility Index, which is based on the trading indicators of S&P 500 options, fell by 3.58% to 13.74.

Futures for gold for delivery in August lost 0.56%, or 10.85, reaching $1.00 per troy ounce. As for other commodities, prices for WTI crude oil futures for delivery in August fell by 2.26%, or 1.57, to $67.80 per barrel. Futures for Brent crude for delivery in September fell by 2.27%, or 1.69, to $72.66 per barrel.

Meanwhile, in the Forex market, the EUR/USD pair rose by 0.52% to 1.10, and the USD/JPY quotes rose by 0.38%, reaching 144.04.

The futures on the USD index fell by 0.20% to 102.13.
